How come a bill payment I made online with my Visa gift card is not registering?

I paid my USAA bill with my Visa Gift Card, but it is not showing online that any such transaction occured. I know that it did because when I called the # on the back of the card to find out my balance, it said that a transaction of 0 had occured today. Now I’m getting nervous.
